Role Description
As a Fire & Security Designer & Estimator
You will be part of the Design team and will support our Design and Sales teams by producing accurate and compliant quotations for our clients. This role will require a proven background producing professional system designs for various Security (Intruder, CCTV and Access Control) and Fire Alarm, PAVA and EVCS based projects.
Responsibilities
- Producing multi-disciplined compliant design and quotations to clients in a timely manner.
- Producing accurate quotations for commercial clients.
- Confident in designing multi-disciplined systems.
- Ability to carry out site surveys.
- Ability to read site drawings and detailed electrical specifications accurately.
- Keep up to date with knowledge of Fire, CCTV, Access Control, and Intruder systems.
- Preparation of bills of materials and quotations from client specifications and drawings for various fire and security systems.
- Ability to interpret clients' requirements and understand building layouts and schematics.
- Carrying out site surveys.
- Ensuring designs fully comply with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Working to defined quotas, deadlines, and budgets.
- Build successful working relationships with clients and the EDSB design & installation team.

Required Skills
- Proven background and experience of Electrical installations within the Fire and Security sector.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent customer relations skills.
- You will ideally be an experienced Estimator / system designer within the Fire & Security industry.
- Good IT skills and a familiarity with Microsoft software.
- Excellent communication skills including face to face meetings and telephone communications.
- The ability to work alone and effectively organise your time as well as being a good team player.
- A good understanding of the Standards which relate to our Industry and the systems we install.
- Have a flexible attitude to working hours.
- Excellent timekeeping and time management skills.
- Willingness to go the extra mile.
- Self-motivated and a team player, demonstrating professionalism, positivity and proactiveness.
- Ideally have experience using CAD software.

Working Hours
Working hours are 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, with a 45 minute lunch break.
Salary
Salary will be discussed at interview stage.
