Fire & Security Engineer – Hiring at Securitas Technology

At Securitas Technology, we’re searching for a proactive Fire & Security Engineer to maintain and service fire & security systems. In this role, you’ll take ownership of issues, resolve them effectively, and prevent future challenges as part of a supportive, forward-thinking team.


The Role

You’ll be a key player in ensuring our clients’ systems operate seamlessly across areas such as:

  • Access Control
  • Intrusion Protection
  • Video Surveillance
  • Door Entry
  • Audio Alarm Verification
  • Staff Protection
  • Public Address
  • Time & Attendance
  • LED Lighting

--- ## What You Will Do

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, collaborating with the Area Supervisor and National Call Centre.
  • Manage service calls and maintenance visits using PDA management software.
  • Respond to daily service calls and complete scheduled maintenance work.
  • Maintain responsibility for vehicle and spares, ensuring everything is properly serviced.
  • Bring a proactive, positive, and problem-solving mindset to every task.
  • Join the callout rota for enhanced opportunities.
  • Work flexibly when required to meet client demand.
  • Ensure responsiveness by maintaining readiness within ~30 minutes of your work area.

Requirements

Eligibility & Clearance

  • Must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC).

Technical Knowledge

Experience with:

  • Intruder systems (Texecom, Galaxy, Pacom, GE)
  • Access Control (PC-based & standalone: Lenel, CEM, C-Cure, PAC, Paxton)
  • CCTV (analogue & IP platforms)
  • Advantageous: Milestone, Dahua, Genetec, CEM knowledge

Skills & Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in the security systems industry
  • Proven field service/technical experience
  • Clean full UK driving licence
  • A strong understanding of industry standards
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history
  • Strong problem-solving ability and experience working independently
  • Exceptional customer service track record
  • Ability to identify potential sales opportunities (commission available)
  • Top skills in communication, time management, and planning
