Job Title: Fire & Security Maintenance / Small Works Engineer
📍 Location: Cardiff
💰 Pay: £16.50 – £18.50 per hour (OTE £40,000+ with overtime)
đź•’ Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
âž• Overtime available (1.5x & 2x rates)
We’re looking for an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a busy and growing team, covering maintenance, repairs, small works, and occasional installation projects. This is a hands-on field role working across occupied sites, so strong technical ability and good customer communication are both essential.
What you’ll be doing:
- Planned maintenance and reactive repairs on fire & security systems
- Small works and minor installation projects
- Working on intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and integrated IP systems
- Supporting systems with complex cause & effect configurations
- Completing service reports and job documentation
- Working in occupied buildings with a strong focus on customer care
- Occasional installation work alongside maintenance duties

What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years’ experience in Fire & Security systems (essential)
- Strong knowledge of intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control
- Experience with IP / integrated systems
- Familiarity with fire extinguishers (desirable)
- Experience working on complex fire systems and cause & effect (preferred)
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Full UK driving licence (essential)

Desirable qualifications:
- FIA / BS 5839 training or equivalent fire systems qualifications

- £16.50 – £18.50 per hour
