First Contact Practitioner Band 7 - 37.5 Hours - PERMANENT

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a permanent, 37.5 hours Band 7 FCP to join the FCP and MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy Team in the Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The Outpatient Physiotherapy Team provides physiotherapy to primarily adult patients with a musculoskeletal problem and occasionally children with specific MSK conditions from Consultant in and around Tameside and Glossop.

  • We see patients with various musculoskeletal conditions including post-surgical Orthopaedic patients.
  • We have few team members specialising in Chronic Pain / Rheumatology / Hand Specialist with splinting skills.

We are a friendly team, always interested in improving our skills and knowledge to provide better patient care.

Responsibilities

The FCP team covers 5 PCN's in Tameside. It is a 20 min assessment service.

  • To provide a high standard of clinical service, performing advanced assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan, carried out as an autonomous practitioner. Will have acquired specialist knowledge in specialist area.
  • To provide clinical expertise, acting as First-Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) and make decisions about the best course of action for patients' care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions). This will involve seeing patients, without prior contact with their GP, in order to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan, reducing the need for same day GP appointments.

  • To implement, monitor and evaluate Clinical Governance within specialist field, specifically looking at best practice and national guidelines, auditing, service evaluation and research.
  • To provide a leadership role that supports staff clinically, professionally and educationally in the specialist area.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
