Portsmouth Football Club is seeking a First Team Performance Analyst to join our Analysis department. Working closely with the Head Coach, coaching staff, and players, you will deliver high-quality video and data analysis to support performance and inform decision-making across all phases of the game.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the full analytical cycle, from opponent preparation and live match support to post-match review, providing clear, actionable insights that help drive individual and team performance in a high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Head Coach’s playing philosophy and tactical principles, using this to shape the focus of all analytical work.
  • Lead and contribute to pre-match opponent analysis, producing detailed video packages, tactical reports, and presentations for the coaching staff and players.
  • Support the post-match review process, identifying key trends in performance, structure, and playing style, and delivering insights to the coaching team in a clear and timely manner.
  • Travel to all home and away fixtures, providing real-time analysis during matches and delivering actionable insights in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Analysis team to ensure all weekly documentation, video clips, and reports are prepared and accessible for the coaching staff.
  • Produce bespoke analysis projects as directed by the Manager and coaching team, supporting research and development within the football department.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the first team squad, as well as relevant opposition and loan players.
  • Represent Portsmouth Football Club professionally at all times, modelling the club’s values and behaviours.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
