Fit Mask Testing Support Worker – Secondment Opportunity
About the Role
The Health and Safety team is offering a 12-month secondment and development opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Fit Mask Testing Support Worker to join their team.
This role aims to support the FFP3 Fit Mask Testing programme, ensuring all clinical staff are safely equipped with the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While full training on specialised equipment and testing techniques will be provided, the successful candidate will need to be:
- Organised and efficient
- A great communicator, capable of independently managing the testing clinic
- Enthusiastic and people-focused
This opportunity offers a chance to develop skills and experience directly within the Health and Safety team under the guidance of the Matron for Estates and Facilities. Recent collaboration with the Occupational Health team into a centralised service ensures the applicant will play a key role in coordinating this programme successfully.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage all fit-testing processes: Organise, review, and amend appointments using G2 OPAS Occupational Health Platform.
- Ensure compliance: Work closely with key teams:
- Infection Prevention & Control
- Procurement & Supply Chain
- Clinical teams
- Provide tailored PPE solutions: Conduct individual-fit testing for masks to ensure proper respiratory protection against harmful pathogens.
- Operational adherence: Independently run high-quality Fit Mask Testing Clinics.

Person Specification
Experience:
Essential Criteria: ✔ Experience working in a team environment
Desirable Criteria: 🔹 Previous experience in a clinic setting 🔹 Good IT skills, proficiency in various systems (especially MS Office)
Qualifications:
Essential Criteria: ✔ Ability to work independently ✔ Exceptional team communication skills
Desirable Criteria: 🔹 Portacount training (or equivalent fit-mask testing equipment) 🔹 Previous Fit Mask/PPE testing experience
