Mechanical Fitter – Join Our Team
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our team as a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter, where you will play a crucial role in producing precision parts using hand tools and manual operations. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure the highest quality standards are consistently met. How You’ll Make An Impact
- Set up components and operate hand tools to the highest standard
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications with precision
- Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing documentation
- Perform routine maintenance on tooling and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety procedures
- Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and deviations from specifications
What You Bring
- A recognised Level 3 apprenticeship, or an NVQ Level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field (candidates will be considered)
- Proven experience as a mechanical fitter in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in:
- Deburring, lapping, heli-coiling, scraping
- Other hand trades to produce high-precision parts (background in blending or fettling would be an advantage)
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes
- A proactive attitude towards work and continuous improvement
