Location: Northern Ireland (with a requirement for travel across Northern Ireland and potential travel to the Republic of Ireland)
About the Role
The Fitter / Welder will be responsible for delivering mechanical components—as part of a dynamic team—on various projects. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where sustainability, innovation, and precision are key.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in efficient team-based project delivery, fostering a culture of collaboration.
- Adhering strictly to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards, policies, and procedures.
- Reviewing mechanical drawings and P&IDs for quality control, offering design feedback to optimize Disambiguated Fabrication Manufacturing Assembly (DfMA) efficiency.
- Operating independently with a strong work ethos to meet high production targets, maintaining zero-defect outputs with meticulous attention to detail.
- Constructing tanks, sub-assemblies, and light components (materials ranging from 1mm to 6mm thickness).
- Fulfilling test documentation, inspection plans (ITPs), and technical tasks responsibly.
- Welding proficiently in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Providing lessons-learned feedback and process improvements to enhance future projects.
- Maintaining excellent workplace housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced team across multiple projects.
- Validate mechanical designs through drawing reviews and contribute to design improvements.
- Manufacture high-quality components—jointless assemblies, lightwelder welded work—meeting specified standards.
- Complete documentation (ITPs, test reports) accurately and timely.
- Weld consistently in all positions, adhering to welding process standards.
- Support innovation through continuous feedback and problem-solving.
- Maintain professional standards—inspections, cleanliness, and safety.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Technical Expertise
- Minimum of 3+ years in a similar Fitter/Welder role.
- Proven TIG welding expertise (experience with flat, folded, and pipework).
- Basic weld polishing and cleaning familiarity.
- Small-area (2-6mm) precision welding for light materials.
- Technical competence in liaising with an Engineering Department for product improvements.
- Self-motivated with adaptable, problem-solving skills (minimal supervision required).

Soft Skills
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, track progress, and provide regular updates to line managers.
- Organised and detail-oriented—housekeeping and workspace management is mandatory.
