Role: Fixed Asset Accountant
Work Type: Permanent, full-time (38.75 hours)
Location: Sutton Coldfield (Hybrid 3 days on site)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
We're looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to take ownership of a substantial and strategically important asset base, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and governance of our fixed asset accounting processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to become the subject matter expert for asset accounting across the business, partnering with stakeholders at all levels, driving process improvements, and helping shape how we manage and report on significant capital investments.

You'll have end-to-end ownership of the fixed asset register, working closely with Finance, Procurement, Property, Fleet and Operational teams to ensure the highest standards of financial control and reporting.

What You'll Be Doing
As our Fixed Assets Accountant, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end fixed asset and capital expenditure process, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
You'll be responsible for:
- Owning and maintaining the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all asset records.
- Managing the full asset lifecycle, from capitalisation and depreciation through to disposals.
- Leading fixed asset month-end activities, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
- Providing insight and analysis on CapEx, depreciation, and asset movements to support business decision-making.
- Acting as the key contact for auditors and supporting statutory reporting requirements.
- Partnering with finance and operational teams to ensure accurate asset accounting and reporting.
- Reviewing and improving fixed asset processes, controls, and governance to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Driving automation and systems improvements, including a review of CapEx allocation and reporting processes.
- Becoming the go-to expert for fixed asset accounting, providing guidance and support across the business.

About You
You'll bring a combination of technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail and a genuine desire to improve processes.
We're looking for someone with:
- Strong experience within Fixed Asset Accounting or Capital Accounting.
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
- Qualified through experience or part-qualified via the following: ACCA, CIMA.
