Role: Fixed Asset Accountant

Work Type: Permanent, full-time (38.75 hours)

Location: Sutton Coldfield (Hybrid 3 days on site)

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

We're looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to take ownership of a substantial and strategically important asset base, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and governance of our fixed asset accounting processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to become the subject matter expert for asset accounting across the business, partnering with stakeholders at all levels, driving process improvements, and helping shape how we manage and report on significant capital investments.

If you enjoy combining technical accounting expertise with process improvement and business partnering, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Why Join Us?

Our assets are at the heart of our business, and this role plays a critical part in ensuring they are accurately managed, controlled and reported.

You'll have end-to-end ownership of the fixed asset register, working closely with Finance, Procurement, Property, Fleet and Operational teams to ensure the highest standards of financial control and reporting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants visibility, responsibility and the chance to influence how asset accounting operates across a complex and evolving organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Fixed Assets Accountant, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end fixed asset and capital expenditure process, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Owning and maintaining the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all asset records.
  • Managing the full asset lifecycle, from capitalisation and depreciation through to disposals.
  • Leading fixed asset month-end activities, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Providing insight and analysis on CapEx, depreciation, and asset movements to support business decision-making.
  • Acting as the key contact for auditors and supporting statutory reporting requirements.
  • Partnering with finance and operational teams to ensure accurate asset accounting and reporting.
  • Reviewing and improving fixed asset processes, controls, and governance to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Driving automation and systems improvements, including a review of CapEx allocation and reporting processes.
  • Becoming the go-to expert for fixed asset accounting, providing guidance and support across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
