- Hours: 30.84 hrs per week (term time only, 39 weeks/year including inset days)
- Salary: £18,862–£19,161 p.a. (or £26,427–£26,846 ft EQ)

The Role
We seek a Fully Qualified or Experienced Teaching Assistant (1:1 Specialist) with expertise supporting pupils with a primary diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or attachment difficulties. Responsible for providing tailored 1:1 support to a named pupil until 31st August 2027 (flexible end date contingent on pupil needs). Essential to work within annual funding provisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised 1:1 support to enhance their pupil’s learning, behaviour, and independence.
- Advocate for the pupil’s needs, adhering to behaviour and safeguarding policies.
- Collaborate with the school in planning, teaching assistance, and progress tracking.
- Develop the pupil’s life skills (e.g., practical scenarios like shopping, managing money).
- Support pupil’s engagement during off-site visits and trips.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, behaviours, and interactions.
- Apply strategies to manage USD-specific triggers, promoting self-regulation.
- Build shared understanding with parents, fostering positive partnerships.
- Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour, and social interactions.
- Embrace creativity, flexibility, and multitasking in a small team setting.

Person Specification
The successful applicant must:
✅ Have direct experience supporting pupils with ASD or attachment difficulties. ✅ Demonstrate practical knowledge of PEIC-D ( desirable, but not mandatory). ✅ Exhibit:
- Empathy for pupil challenges and triggers.
- Adaptability to individual needs.
- Teamwork skills and collaborative teaching experience.
- Supportive yet firm approach to behaviour management.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain high standards with historical examples.
- Professional development (training readiness encouraged).
