The Role

Join Moderna's Clinical Biomarker Laboratory and play a hands-on role in generating high-quality immunoassay data that supports clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas. Working within a collaborative laboratory environment, you will contribute to assay development, clinical sample testing, and the delivery of reliable scientific data while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance. As Moderna continues to evolve its digital capabilities, you'll also have opportunities to work alongside advanced laboratory technologies and emerging Generative AI-enabled tools that enhance scientific workflows and operational excellence.
Here's What You'll Do
- Support immunoassay development and clinical testing activities across multiple therapeutic programmes.
- Under the guidance of the study lead, ensure the quality and integrity of assigned immunoassay projects supporting Moderna clinical trials.
- Prepare laboratory media, chemicals and reagents while maintaining accurate batch records.
- Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and ensure laboratory spaces remain organised and operational.
- Prepare and execute laboratory experiments.
- Conduct immunoassay sample analysis to generate high-quality clinical data.
- Complete training on Moderna-specific laboratory procedures and apply them consistently.
- Deliver accurate, high-quality data within established project timelines.
- Contribute to the preparation of bioanalytical plans and reports and assist with drafting or reviewing SOPs where appropriate.
- Identify, troubleshoot and communicate quality issues to study or scientific leads.
- Undertake general laboratory responsibilities to support efficient day-to-day operations.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Maintain training records in accordance with Moderna requirements.
- Spend the majority of working time (85% or more) within the laboratory environment.
- Support occasional overtime or weekend work when required to meet project needs.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
- BSC/MSc Degree in Biology, Biotechnology or Life sciences with experience in a lab environment.
- Demonstrated level of independence and work ethics
- Good written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Good computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad Prism
- Preferable knowledge of working in a regulated environment (GCP, ISO standards)
- Preferable experience with LIMS systems.
This position is site-based, requiring you to be at Moderna’s site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work. As part of Moderna’s commitment to workplace safety, this role may require an enhanced pre-employment check.
