FLAGGERS (BASE AND HIGHWAY DIVISIONS)
Asphalt Labourers
Primary Responsibilities
- Complete physical work, including shoveling, raking, and sweeping
- Operate related heavy equipment with asphalt experience
Requirements
- Ability to work out of town when necessary
- Previous experience in the asphalt paving industry
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (primarily outdoors)
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Punctual, reliable, hardworking team player
- Willing to work long hours and some weekends based on business needs
Base and Excavation Labourers
For our CITY AND OUT-OF-TOWN Division
Key Responsibilities
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset
- Ability to work in all weather (primarily outdoors)
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Physical work: shovelling, sweeping, lifting
- Operate packer, check grade, spot trucks, dig for utilities
- Willingness to work long hours and some weekends
- Hardworking, reliable, and team-oriented
- Ability to work out of town when necessary
Class 3 Tandem/Water Truck Drivers
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tandem truck and equipment safely
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintenance checks
- Verify proper loading of aggregates and materials (type/weight)
- Ensure on-time delivery of construction materials
- Clean and maintain truck box
- Perform general labour tasks as needed
Skills / Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in the road construction industry preferred
- Confident ability to back up loader trailers
- Class 3 driver’s license with clean driving record
- Knowledge of construction materials
- Must be physically fit
- Good attitude, punctual, and comfortable working independently and in a team
Excavator Operator
Key Responsibilities
- Operate excavators for digging parking lots, streets, and ditches
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade specs
- Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance
- Follow company and provincial safety regulations; identify hazards
- Work with site supervisors to maintain workflow
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
What You Bring
- Minimum 2 years of excavator/heavy equipment experience (dozer experience is helpful)
- Expertise with GPS/Trimble systems (preferred)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license; Class 1 or 3 is an asset
Flaggers (Base & Highway Divisions)
Seeking Seasonal Flaggers for Base & Highway projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely direct traffic at construction sites
- Monitor traffic flow, alert crews to hazards
- Set up/remove traffic control devices (cones, barrels, signage)
- Communicate via two-way radios
- Respond professionally to public inquiries
- Support general labour tasks when needed
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours (including overtime)
- Must travel and work out of town when required
- Punctual, reliable, dependable
- Comfortable standing for long periods
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude
- Must work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Stay calm under pressure
- CSA-approved steel-toed boots required
- Ability to follow safety/procedures/task policies

Grader Finisher Operator
Key Responsibilities
- Operate grader to achieve fine grade tolerances
- Spread sand, soil, aggregates to specified grades
- Adjust blade angles and heights per stake markers/specifications
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance
- Operate equipment on public roads with utility awareness
- Interpret grade stakes, road plans
- Move materials, earth, regrade sites
- Follow all safety standards
- Additional equipment/facilities labour included
Skills / Qualifications
- 2–3 years of grader operating experience
- Proficiency with grade control systems (GPS preferred)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs
- Must work in outdoor conditions
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (clean abstract preferred)
- Will travel work and as required
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
Duties
- Diagnose/repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems*
- Perform *lubrication, maintenance, and diagnostic checks
- Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer specs and safety regulations
- Complete work orders upon job completion
- Basic diagnostics with computer tools
- Train/junior technicians as needed
Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mechanic’s hands tools on first day
- Minimum Journeyperson Level 3 qualification preferred
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident problem-solving and understanding of safety protocols
- Able to handle heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs) and adverse conditions
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license required
- Can work extended hours (16-hour shifts including weekends) and on-call
- Operate with minimal supervision
Loader Operator
Track & Rubber Tire Loaders for Sewer & Water Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Level, grade, install backfill
- Operate track and/or tire loaders safely
- Conduct fuel and maintenance duties
- Collaborate with foreman/crew
- Follow all safety regulations
What You Bring
- Experience operating loaders (trackuted, rubber tire)
- That hardworking attitude
- Flexibility for long emergency/peak shifts
- Valid driver’s license and transportation
- Must withstand outdoor weather conditions
Pipelayers
Join Sewer & Water Division as a Pipelayer.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans
- Set up/operate grade lasers and raw stakes
- Operate hand tools for cutting a variety of pipe
- Install sewer or water systems (watermain, sanitary, drainage)
- Star knowledge of pipelaying techniques
- Collaborate with crew and ground utilities (manual)
- Complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Uphold workplace safety
What You Bring
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Ability to install hydrants, valves, water services, manholes
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Routine Duties
- Inspect/repair/diagnose: engines, transmissions, drive trains, suspension, brakes, air/hydraulics, related *electrical/auxiliaries
- Manitoba Safety Inspections (if qualified)
- Develop admin/technical knowledge for professional standards
- Computer diagnostics and apprenticeship mentoring
- General diagnostics and o-diesel equipment services
Experience
- High School or equivalent education
- Apprentice or Journeyman level (including prior welding)
- MAG certification considered preferred
- Strong computer skills
Requirements
- Complete set of mechanic’s hand tools on first day
- Valid Class 5 (air brake preferrable) licence in Manitoba
- Excellent instructing communication skills
- Capable of *deadlifts (100 lbs) exposure to extremes (exhaust fumes, weather, lifting/materials)
- Availability for extended shifts/workdates
- Seek collaborative player/commitment to safety
Welders
Responsibilities
- Repair/replace wear components on equipment/building infrastructure
- Perform welding/repairs on trucks, assemblers, signs, etc.
- Fabricate replacement parts
- Operate oxy-acetylene/plasma cutting tools
- Weld various materials, including stainless, mild, cast metals, and aluminum
Welding Processes Required
- FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, steam/metal arc gouging
What You Bring
- Welding and fabrication experience in related fields
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Ability to work alone yet collaborate
- Flexibility to handle weekdays/weekends/alternate hours
- Comfort with traveling/staying out of town
- Physical capability (lift material to 50 lbs)
- Can support projects in all weather conditions
