Role Description
The Fleet and Compliance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Haydock. This role oversees day-to-day fleet operations, including vehicle availability, maintenance scheduling, MOTs, inspections, and ensuring drivers and vehicles meet all legal and safety requirements.

The person in this position monitors and manages compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and industry standards, including driver hours, tachograph records, and vehicle documentation. They will liaise with drivers, planners, and the operations team to optimize fleet utilisation, resolve operational issues, and support the safe, efficient delivery of services. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, preparing reports for management, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in fleet performance and compliance processes.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong fleet management and transport operations skills, including vehicle scheduling, maintenance coordination, and route planning.
- Candidates should possess compliance and regulatory knowledge, such as familiarity with UK transport legislation, driver hours regulations, tachograph rules, and health and safety standards.
- Candidates should possess operational and analytical skills, including data tracking, KPI monitoring, reporting, and using fleet or transport management systems.
- Candidates should possess people and communication skills, including the ability to work with drivers, operations staff, customers, and external stakeholders in a clear, respectful manner.
- Candidates should possess organisational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, the ability to prioritise tasks, and proactive issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Transport Manager CPC, logistics or transport-related certifications, or equivalent experience in road transport or haulage are highly beneficial.
- Experience in logistics, distribution, or road haulage environments, particularly in HGV operations, and competence in using standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, documents) will be advantageous.
