About the Company
At Alltruck, our values shape the way we work. We’re committed, progressive, passionate, and proactive — and we believe in creating an environment where our people can flourish. Our culture is built around a practical, positive “can do” attitude, with teams who are trusted, engaged, and empowered to do great work. Based from our head office in Leicester, we’re a market leader in truck and van rental, contract hire, fleet management, commercial vehicle repair and maintenance, public sector fleet support, and Bodyshop repair services.
About the Role
Your mission is simple — but seriously important: protect Alltruck’s customer promise and commercial performance by making sure our HGV fleet operates safely, reliably, cost-effectively, and to the highest engineering standards. You’ll be the person who brings technical know-how, commercial sharpness, supplier confidence, and calm authority to the table.
Responsibilities
- Supplier performance that actually performs. You’ll establish, negotiate, and manage clear service levels with external maintenance providers, making sure quality, uptime, response times, cost control, and customer impact are always front and centre.
- Technical standards that hold up under pressure. You’ll use your HGV engineering expertise to assess repair quality, investigate recurring faults, validate technical recommendations, and prevent repeat failures before they become bigger problems.
- Commercial control with backbone. From pricing and warranty support to goodwill contributions and supplier commitments, you’ll negotiate confidently and protect Alltruck’s commercial position without compromising safety, compliance, or service quality.
- Stakeholder confidence. You’ll be a credible engineering voice for suppliers, customers, Account Management, Fleet, and senior colleagues — especially when things are complex, urgent, or need a steady hand.
- Smarter ways of working. You’ll use data, fleet systems, Microsoft Office tools, and appropriate AI-enabled approaches to spot patterns, sharpen reporting, improve maintenance decisions, and make operations more efficient.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
