We are now recruiting Workshop Shift Supervisors, offering a permanent contract with the potential to earn over £50k.
Working Hours: Full-time (39.5 hours per week), with a rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: 06:00–14:30
- Week 2: 10:30–19:00 Saturdays on a one-in-three basis (with a corresponding weekday off).
Salary & Benefits
- Annual Salary: £50,988
- Weekend supplement: £53.66 per Saturday shift

Key Responsibilities
As Shift Supervisor, reporting to the Fleet Workshop Manager, you will:
- Lead operations under production planning, deploying teams and processes to maintain high-quality, efficient outputs.
- Ensure safety standards and drive operational excellence in a team of vehicle techs.
- First-line management:
- Run weekly team meetings and shift huddles.
- Oversee remedial approaches to conduct issues.
- Support technician wellbeing post-sick leave.
- Ensure compliance with logistics and legal requirements.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics and repairs as needed, particularly:
- Lighting slick/trailer/ladder tasks.
- Maintenance/repairs across LCV, HGV or other ‘wide-ranging fleet vehicles.
- Maintain accurate stock and vehicle documentation.

Required Experience & Knowledge
- Leadership experience:
- Managed teams of vehicle technicians with strong H&S knowledge.
- Able to simplify technical issues when communicating to teams.
- Fully advised mechanic with IMI Level 3 qualification (Light Vehicle or Equivalent).
- Technical toolkit owner plus work experience specifically in:
- LCVs and HGVs on trailers.
- Valid UK manual licence, with preference for HGV license (including trailers).
- Proven adaptability across vehicle types under tight deadlines.
- Upholds standards and prioritises quality over speed.
