Tasks
As the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and management of our vehicle fleet. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the fleet while complying with all relevant regulations and company policies. The purpose of this role is to optimise fleet performance and support the organisation's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of fleet vehicles
- Develop and implement fleet policies, procedures, and best practices
- Monitor vehicle usage and ensure optimal allocation
- Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Manage relationships with service providers and negotiate contracts for repairs and maintenance
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle maintenance and repair history
- Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and insurance costs
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement efficiency improvements
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to fleet operations
- Implement and enforce safety protocols for drivers and vehicles
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to standards
- Track and analyse fleet performance metrics, including fuel efficiency, downtime, and costs
- Prepare regular reports for management on fleet operations and performance
- Use data to identify trends and recommend improvements

About You
- Extensive experience in fleet management
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and fleet management software
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, able to present to senior management and clients
- Strong IT literacy, confident with fleet management systems
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to fleet management

Essential
Training & Qualifications
- Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Certification in fleet management
- FORS accreditation awareness
