Fleet Marine Engineer – Permanent Role (UK/EU Residency Required)

We are recruiting for a Fleet Marine Engineer to join our Marine Division.
Location
- OEG Vessels and Remote (United Kingdom and Europe)
- UK residency essential
Contract
- Permanent with 21/21 shift rotation (requires adaptable availability).
Core Purpose
The OEG Marine Division operates a fleet of windfarm support vessels (21–26m LOA). The Fleet Marine Engineer will:
- Be the primary technical focal point for all vessels, providing proactive, responsive support to resolve issues efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ensure vessels are rigorously maintained, minimising operational downtime.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to onboard engineers, upholding compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

- Regular fleet audits: Travel across the vessel fleet to conduct maintenance, technical inspections, and repairs as required.
- Training and onboard periods: Conduct onboard training and evaluations during quieter periods to develop engineering personnel.
- Contractor coordination: Organise external contractors for inspections, certifications, and specialised vessel audits.
- Planning and logistics: Lead scheduled and emergency dry-dock operations, including coordination with engineering crews, contractors, and shipyards.
- Record-keeping: Maintain fully compliant servicing, repair, and maintenance registers.
- Procurement and warehousing: Identify parts requirements, obtain quotations, and source spare/replacement parts with inventory tracking.
- Process improvements: Continuously identify and implement operational efficiencies and asset enhancements.
- Partnership support: Provide technical expertise and backup to onboard engineers.
- Technical documentation: Oversee asset management systems and planned maintenance protocols.
- Fleet coverage: Fundamentally sail as an Engineer (covering emergencies) on OEG vessels after AEC 1 & 2 certification.
- Spare parts management: Monitor and procureing, storing, and documenting critical/non-critical spares, tools, and consumables.

Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a multi-skilled engineer in:
- Marine
- Agricultural
- Heavy plant
- HGV operations
- Soft skills:
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Thrives in team-based environments with a structured, analytical approach.
- Calm under pressure, adaptable to dynamic, high-paced priorities.
- Self-reliance: Comfortable with travel across the UK/Europe for work-related operations.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Essential:
- Full valid British driving license.
- Access to a work permit or right to work in the UK (UK residency mandatory).
- Valid, unexpired passport.
- Desirable (support available for training):
- Approved Engine Course (AEC):
- Part 1: Max 60-mile offshore vessels.
- Part 2: Over 85-mile vessels (>150m of workboats required)
- STCW: Seafarers’ Certification (training could be scoped for approved candidates).
