About The Role

We are looking for a Fleet Strategy and Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our fleet operations. Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain Partnerships, you’ll lead the development and delivery of a fleet strategy that ensures our vehicles, suppliers, systems and processes are safe, compliant, cost-effective and fit for the future.

This is a highly influential leadership role, providing strategic direction across fleet governance, Operator Licence compliance, fleet investment planning, supplier management and sustainability initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, helping to balance operational needs with long-term strategic priorities while driving continuous improvement and value for money.

A key focus of the role will be leading our transition towards a more sustainable fleet, including the adoption of electric vehicles and lower-emission transport solutions. You’ll also oversee fleet lifecycle management, capital investment programmes, supplier performance and compliance, ensuring the organisation remains protected from regulatory, financial and reputational risk.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic fleet professional who enjoys influencing change, building strong partnerships and delivering measurable business outcomes.

About You

You are an experienced and commercially minded fleet leader with a strong track record of delivering strategic fleet management, operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You bring significant experience in fleet strategy, vehicle specification, lifecycle planning and fleet performance management, alongside a sound understanding of Operator Licence requirements and associated legislation.

Ideally, you will hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Goods National, or be willing to work towards achieving it. You will also have experience managing fleet investment programmes, developing business cases and making evidence-based decisions that optimise cost, performance and operational effectiveness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
