About the Role
The FLEET Technical Officer is a key role in driving efficiency, compliance, and performance across the Brigade’s world-leading emergency service fleet.

As part of the FLEET Liaison Engineering & Equipment Team, you will:
- Provide technical support for London’s large-scale vehicle fleet
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure excellence
- Support safe, effective fleet operations
Responsibilities
- Assist in achieving best value, performance, and compliance for vehicles and operational equipment
- Maintain technical oversight of fleet-related policies, contracts, and maintenance
- Work with contractors, operational users, and external partners to resolve complex issues
- Implement and advocate for health & safety standards within fleet operations
- Collaborate with teams to support continuous improvement
Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate:

- Eligibility to work in the UK (current at application)
- Full UK driving licence (with a commitment to obtain an LGV Class C licence where required)
- Willingness to participate in Duty Transport Officer on-call duties
- Ability to travel across London and attend operational locations as needed
Additional expectations include:
- Collaborative working style, clear communication with contractors, operational teams, and external partners
- Ability to comply with LFB policies on Health & Safety, Equality & Confidentiality
- Willingness to attend Head Office regularly
- Successful completion of pre-employment checks (BPSS clearance, etc.)
