Flexo Machine Setter/Operator

Machine Operator (Metal Forming) – Stainless & Galvanised Steel

Shift Leader – Supervisor


About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Set up and operate machinery using galvanised and stainless steels to transform raw materials or semi-finished parts into high-quality components or finished products.
  • Follow agreed workflows, ABB standard processes and safety protocols while ensuring production aligns with schedules and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, apply corrective maintenance, and maintain detailed operational records.
  • Be adaptable during training and prepare for shift rotation.

This role is purely on-site.


Key Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Daily Machine Operations
    • Operate machines in compliance with operating manuals, work schedules, and production orders.
  • Maintenance & Adjustments
    • Perform routine machine setup, adjustments, and repairs, including fitting simple replacement parts/conducts.
    • Conduct regular maintenance on equipment/tools and log all repairs, setups, and activities.
    • Adjust programs as needed and troubleshoot operational issues, reporting findings promptly.
  • Quality Control & Maintenance Records
    • Track and classify approved, defective, and final products to uphold high-quality standards.
    • Collect and report OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data.
  • Hourly Quality Checks
    • Perform real-time inspections to ensure parts meet exact tolerances and factory standards.

Requirements

To achieve excellence in this role, you will have:

✅ Technical Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in operating metal forming machines (e.g., presses, benders) to work with galvanised and stainless steel.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in machine setup and steel production.
  • Strong understanding of fault-finding, machine diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Practical knowledge of tolerance measurements and ability to use precision tools like vernier calipers, gauges, and dial indicators.
