Flight Crew Scheduling Manager (FCSM)
You will lead multiple Crew Planning teams responsible for delivering the flight crew training program, the optimisation, and compliance within TUI Airways and TUIfly Nordic. Key tasks include:
- Coordination and delivery of all flight crew training from planning to operational execution
- Documentation of training requirements in alignment with regulatory and Airline compliance
- Optimisation and efficient management of flight crew rosters
Hybrid Working Agreement
The role is available on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite at the Luton office. Note that higher onsite presence (Luton) is required during roster publication weeks.

Core Responsibilities
- Leadership over Crew Planning Teams: Ensure cost-effective and compliance-driven flight crew training programming and roster optimisation.
- Problem-solving & Cost Efficiency: Analyze variances in flying programmes (e.g., fleet roll-over, operational disruption) and propose fact-based recommendations on risks and opportunities, aligning costing communications with senior stakeholders.
- Process Improvements: Drive continuous improvements and innovation across rostering and training teams, maximizing crew productivity and operational flexibility through scalable systems and data-driven insights.
- KPI Monitoring: Regular reporting and assessment of training and rostering KPIs, ensuring quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness. Leverage automation and AI to enhance data accuracy and accessibility.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, navigate trade union negotiations, and collaborate on agreements centered around crew productivity, operational flexibility, and cost-saving strategies.
- Team Development: Encourage high performance and cultivate creativity through effective coaching, fostering a culture of innovation & continuous improvement.
Requirements / Qualifications
Core Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership in people management, handling diverse teams and driving cultural transformation.
- Capacity to operate effectively under pressure, synthesizing complex information with clear decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication skills for influencing stakeholders from multiple levels, up to Director level.
- Ability to drive continuous improvements through innovating processes, ensuring positivity and constructive challenge in decision-making.
- Proficiency in IT & rostering systems—extra credit for JCR (Jet Centre) knowledge.
- Legal familiarity with CAA & EASA Regulations, including understanding of Flight Time Limitations (FTL), Training Regulations, and Industrial Agreements.
- Education or experience: Maths and English to at least A Level (or equivalent).
