A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make.

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit.

The Role

Flight Safety Performance Specialist

The Flight Safety Performance Specialist sits within the Flight Operations Technical team and plays a key role in supporting British Airways’ Management System. The team is responsible for monitoring safety performance, identifying emerging risks, assessing the effectiveness of safety controls, and providing evidence-based insight that supports operational decision-making. Through the analysis of safety reports, Flight Data Monitoring data and other operational safety data, the team helps ensure that Flight Operations maintains a proactive, risk-based approach to aviation safety management and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor and analyse aviation safety performance using data from operational safety sources, safety reports and Flight Data Monitoring systems.
  • Produce dashboards, scorecards and analytical evidence to support Flight Operations safety governance and assurance activities.
  • Provide performance insight and analytical support to safety investigations led by Flight Operations Technical, without assuming investigation ownership.
  • Assess safety trends, precursors and safety control effectiveness to support proactive, risk-based safety management.
  • Support the monitoring and effectiveness review of Risk Action Plans (RAPs) and Management of Change (MoC) activities through robust performance evidence.
  • Provide safety performance insight to support Evidence-Based Training (EBT), safety promotion initiatives and organisational learning programmes.
  • Deliver flexible analytical support across Flight Operations safety priorities, including ad-hoc projects and emerging business requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
