Flight Simulator Technician
Avion focuses on Full Flight Simulator design, manufacturing, and operation. Avion enables airlines to train at their home base, giving them complete control of the training schedule. This way, airlines can cut costs and CO2 emissions and have a well-rested flight crew. In other words: it benefits economic, environmental and social sustainability targets.
Avion operates two Flight Training Centres: one in Mumbai and one in Luton. This job posting is meant for the Avion Flight Training Centre London, located at London Luton Airport. The centre houses the Avion A320 Full Flight Simulator. It’s in operation 24/7 and serves major airlines and training organisations.
Tasks Responsibilities
The Flight Simulator Technician is responsible for executing all maintenance tasks necessary for the simulator's smooth operation. The Technician can contract support to assist with these activities.
The Flight Simulator Technician is responsible for the correct and timely execution of the prescribed maintenance tasks in this Manual and the maintenance manual. The simulator engineers, under supervision of the Maintenance manager, usually carry out the actual performance of maintenance tasks. The Flight Simulator Technician is being appointed by the Maintenance manager to ensure and complete each task.

The Flight Simulator Technician shall have relevant experience in maintenance tasks on FSTD. Furthermore, the Flight Simulator Technician will receive maintenance training from a maintenance manager or a senior Flight Simulator Technician in accordance with the Training syllabus for Flight Simulator Technicians. You have relevant experience running QTGs of FSTDs or must follow a course to fulfil this task.
Tasks
Perform standard Simulator support activities.
Perform Site Acceptance Test.
Carry out maintenance, modifications and/or repairs of FSTD in accordance with Regulatory Authority requirements and company standards.
Implement updates and repairs to enhance the performance of the FSTD.
Update maintenance data collection records and assist with equipment installation and check-out modifications.
Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals, or simulator documents.
Perform configuration changes to Simulators and FSTD, evaluate and confirm the proper post-change operation.
Monitor Simulator(s) performance and condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
Location
This job is based at the Avion Flight Training Centre UK, located at London Luton Airport (landside). You must have the right to live and work in the UK. The job is based on a shift pattern, working 4-on, 4-off, made up of days, nights, and weekends.
