Floating Support Worker - Ceredigion Services

Summary

We as Codi have part-time opportunities to join as a Floating Support Worker across two of our Ceredigion Services!

Whether this could be a stepping stone into support, or a chance to bring your experience into one of the roles. Both services are unique, but ultimately have the same goal—to provide skills & knowledge for our clients and work towards independent living.

About the Services

Ceredigion Mental Health Service (1x 21 hours available)

  • Location: Based at the Camfan Service, Lampeter, Ceredigion.
  • Role: Managed by the Floating Support Worker/Mental Health Service, supporting individuals experiencing mental health conditions in their homes or temporary accommodation across Ceredigion.
  • Key Goal: The team aims to prevent homelessness by:
    • Providing support to manage debt,
    • Promoting health and wellbeing,
    • Empowering individuals to make positive choices.
  • Support skills needed: Developing themes around:
    • Preventing homelessness,
    • Improving financial capability,
    • Maintaining homes within the community.

Who we’re looking for for this role:

  • Knowledge/experience of supporting individuals suffering from mental health or homelessness issues.

Connecting People Service (1x 30 hours available)

  • Location: Based at the Camfan Service, Lampeter, Ceredigion.
  • Role: Managed by the Connecting People Service, where the Floating Support Workers provide support to individuals (aged 18+) with mild learning disabilities.
  • Key Areas of Support:
    • Assistance with housing challenges,
    • Mental health support,
    • Substance misuse,
    • Other complex needs.
  • Impact: Support in sustaining & securing suitable accommodation, helping individuals achieve development and growth.

Who we’re looking for for this role:

  • Knowledge/experience of supporting individuals with mild learning disabilities.

Skills and Experience Needed

For all roles, the following are essential:

  • Relevant work experience,
  • Knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people.
  • Understanding of housing-related support and welfare benefits.

Additional must-haves:

  • A passion to work with people and enable them to live as independent a life as possible.
  • An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference in people’s lives.
  • Strong initiative and ability to:
    • Work alone,
    • Collaborate as part of a great team.
  • Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations.

Key Details

  • Contract type: Permanent.
  • Working pattern:
    • Primarily Monday–Friday (office hours).
    • Requires flexibility to meet service needs.
  • Key requirement: Hold a valid UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle.
