We’re at the centre of acceleration — with accelerating infrastructure investment worldwide, our services are in high demand. Join 45,000+ professionals—planners, engineers, environmental experts and digital innovators—working together to create positive impact.

About the Role

"Are you ready to join a team of flood risk specialists and shape the future of the Water Industry?"

Our Water Business Line is seeking a passionate Flood Modeller to accelerate growth within our dynamic engineering hub in Leeds, the UK’s leading northern engineering cluster.

This role gives you the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to high-profile flood risk projects across the UK and internationally.
  • Develop resilient, future-proof flood solutions for communities, infrastructure, and the environment.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment that values innovation, collaboration, and impact — with every day bringing new challenges.

Responsibilities

As a Hydrologist/Flood Modeller, you’ll play a key role under general supervision, delivering technical work critical to flood risk solutions:

  • Conduct technical tasks of moderate complexity relating to:
    • Groundwater investigations
    • Hydrological studies
    • Flood resilience solutions
  • Support hydrology projects, following defined project terms, with regular guidance from senior professionals.
  • Develop and analyse advanced hydrological and environmental data, using tools such as:
    • HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MIKE FLOOD, or InfoWorks ICM
    • GIS platforms (ArcGIS/QGIS) for spatial analysis
  • Prepare technical reports grounded in flood risk assessment, drainage modelling, and river process modelling.
  • Monitor upstream activities to assess regulatory compliance and circumvention risks.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team, balancing autonomy with collaborative problem-solving.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
