Job Description

You’ll join a team of 17, consisting of a mix of grades, working on a number of different projects. Our workplan is agreed quarterly, which ensures that work is varied and opportunities to learn are numerous.
You’ll support and learn from colleagues while analysing and improving data that underpins all kinds of activities, from flood warnings and the effort to combat climate change, to securing national funding and promoting the public’s understanding of flood risk.
Reporting to the FCRM Data Improvements Team Leader, you will fulfil a multi-purpose role, working on a variety of datasets that require elements of data improvements. You will work closely with team members and can expect to be involved in any of the following:
- updating and maintaining datasets
- improving the way our data is stored
- supporting our project delivery leads who manage our workplan

Experience/skills Required
Through your experience to date, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- A basic understanding of data management and analysis
- Familiarity with standard IT packages (e.g. Excel) and an interest in tools such as GIS
- Some introductory exposure to tools such as databases, Power BI, Python or SQL
- Good communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

These positions are temporary, up to 23 months in duration.
Work location is flexible, but you must have a base at one of our offices across England. We offer hybrid home/office working but some travel is expected for team meetings.
