Role Overview: Floor Manager
A Key Position, A Frontrunner Opportunity
As a Floor Manager at JD Sports, you’ll embody the JD experience—supporting efficient operations, leading daily performance, and inspiring a high-performing retail team. This role is about: ✔ Driving outstanding customer service with focus, professionalism, and energy. ✔ Ensuring sales targets are met through merchandising, team motivation, and sales strategies. ✔ Developing your team through visionary leadership, helping them grow into exceptional colleagues. ✔ Maintaining a clean, efficient, and brand-standard shop floor.

Key Responsibilities
Delivery and Service Excellence
- Provide fast, friendly, and professional customer support, ensuring every visit reflects JD’s service standards.
- Uphold visual standards and operational excellence in all aspects of shop-floor operations.
Performance and Commercial Focus
- Boost sales and team engagement through proactive merchandising, rationale product placement, and effective stock replenishment.
- Align daily decisions with sales KPIs and ensure the team contributes to sustained financial results.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead by example, setting high standards for performance, service, and professional conduct.
- Support team members’ growth—mentor, coach, and develop their abilities while maintaining team cohesion.
- Reinforce JD policies, processes, and values, ensuring a consistent organisation-wide approach.
Operational Liability and Support
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, including shift quality checks, audit standards, and cash handling.
- Ensure the shop floor remains neat, organised, and welcoming for customers and colleagues.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in supervision within a high-pressure retail or customer-service environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in team support, motivation, and development.
- Deep ability to perform under pressure, deliver high service standards, and excel in meticulous attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness—understanding the impact of daily actions on store metrics and strategic objectives.
Desirable Attributes
- A passionate advocate for the JD brand, its trends, and exceptional customer experience.
- A dynamic, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced retail settings.
- The confidence and problem-solving skills to resolve customer issues swiftly and satisfactorily.
