As Floor Manager – Catering, you’ll spearhead service excellence across retail spaces, including restaurants, coffee outlets, and beyond. This is a role for those who thrive in fast-paced environments—where your leadership will inspire teams, drive financial targets, and set new standards for service.
戸You’ll work closely with the wider team to:
- Lead and supervise staff’s daily performance, ensuring service standards, training needs, and efficiency are met.
- Develop and implement training plans, nurturing talent from heads of departments to junior team members.
- Drive financial performance by monitoring budgets, tracking costs, and exceeding commercial goals.
- Innovate and adapt—stay ahead of trends, champion sustainability, and ensure service quality remains unparalleled.
- Advocate for the customer—monitor feedback, address complaints, and implement continuous improvements.
- Drive marketing and brand consistency, co-ordinating seasonal plans, signage, and promotional activities.
- Ensure legal compliance in health & safety, finance, and operational strategies.

Responsibilities
Key duties, broken down by focus area:
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring standards and KPIs are met.
- Assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.
- Develop growth plans for staff, prioritising mentorship and ongoing development.
- Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, and staff engagement to promote a positive culture.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee timeliness, quality, and efficiency across catering areas.
- Organise and balance workloads, delegating tasks effectively.
- Monitor server utilisation, costs, and financial targets, advocating resource optimisation.
- Lead cost control to meet budget and revenue goals.
Customer Experience & Service
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience—your responsibility extends beyond the first service—tracking satisfaction and ensuring continuous improvement.
- Assess and report on guest feedback, addressing issues with clear actionable plans.
- Stay proactive in enhancing service through tactical and innovative solutions.
Operations & Compliance
- Adhere to health & safety standards and operational protocols.
- Comply with all legal, accounting, and finance regulations within the role’s scope.
Innovation & Marketing
- Drive creative ideas and trends for product excellence and sustainability.
- Coordinate annual and seasonal marketing plans for success across outlets.
- Manage signage and repurposing of spaces to maximise commercial outcomes.
Administration & Reporting
- Contribute and compile weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, analysing service impact and marketing effectiveness.
- Gather and review metrics, drawing data-driven conclusions for improvements.
Requirements

Must-Have Attributes
- A proven track record in supervisory/managerial roles within catering, hospitality, or a related field (experience commensurate with this level).
- The ability to inspire and motivate teams—putting guests and staff first at all times.

- A keen eye for detail, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to navigate service challenges efficiently.

- Health & safety and compliance awareness (a must).
