Floor Staff – Vacancy at The Punchbowl, York

Job Ref: 658101 Location: The Punchbowl, York Salary: £12.81/hour (£13.81/hour for hours between midnight–5.59am) Closing Date: 06 July 2026 Contract: 6 hours per week (flexible hours)

The Role

Your role is to work as part of a team to serve food and drinks to specification, maintain cleanliness, safety, and high standards of customer service while ensuring efficient operations.

Our pub opens early and closes late, offering flexible shift patterns across mornings, evenings, weekends, and late finishes.

Key Duties Include

  • Taking orders, preparing, dispensing and serving drinks (bar or via app)
  • Delivering food, completing check-backs, clearing plates within timeframes
  • Providing friendly customer interactions (e.g., greetings, thanks, rapport-building)
  • Staying knowledgeable about promotions, events, and new products
  • Upholding ‘clean as you go’ standards:
    • Clearing tables
    • Wiping surfaces
    • Conducting toilet checks
    • Supporting required tasks, such as glasswashing, restocking, floor & garden clearing
