A bit about us.
Grind is a coffee company that lives in London. Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've expanded across London with cafés, coffee trucks, and a state-of-the-art coffee roastery.
Our cafes and coffee shops are the beating heart of Grind, they are where it all began. We're a bustling hub in the heart of London's most iconic places, known for serving our specialty coffee and renowned bottomless brunches.
We think coffee can be a force for good. Whether it's through creating the UK's first compostable coffee pods, our plastic-free packaging, or carbon-free shipping - we're on a mission to be the world's most sustainable coffee company.
In 2023, we created our charity, the Better Coffee Foundation, to undo the damage done by the global coffee industry - in our first year, we recovered 43 million pods' worth of ocean-bound plastic.
A bit about the role.
We are looking for driven and experienced floor staff who are passionate about the hospitality industry and progressing their career. As a Grind floor staff member, you will be quick on your feet, confident in delivering our Grind steps of service, and never mind getting your hands dirty!
To be eligible for this position, you will need to have previous experience of working in a restaurant (or similar) customer-focused environment and have a clear understanding of what it takes to deliver excellent customer service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
