Role Overview
As the Floor Supervisor – Berners Tavern, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring flawless service across our fine-dining experience. Your contributions will shape the way guests experience the restaurant while leading our hospitality team to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Service leadership: Thriving alongside peak-service demands in the Berners Tavern
- Area assignment & service management:
- Assign, monitor, and oversee activity across sections, managing orders, recommendations, and payments
- Lead the Head Waiter/ress, Chef de Rang, and Commis Waiters under your direct charge
- Guest experience excellence:
- Anticipate and resolve guests’ needs with precision and warmth
- Ensure knowledge of food, drink, and allergy compliance to provide safe & accurate guest communications
- Team mentorship:
- Foster collaboration, ensure the team aligns with operational goals, and resolve employee concerns
- Empower staff to deliver exceptional, personalised service with pride
- Hopitality standards:
- Maintain communication flow between service teams and kitchen, ensuring seamless order fulfillment
- Implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, guest safety, and service quality
- Continue a dynamic balance of structure and creativity to elevate (and personalise) team performance

Critical Qualifications
We seek a driven, personable professional who:

- has proven fine-dining experience (preference given)
- thrives in dynamic team environments, exhibiting relatability and leadership without hierarchy
- upholds standards of elegance & creativity in every interaction
- delivers clear communications—both with colleagues and guests—with enthusiasm
- thrives on a mélange of workplace joy and professionalism
Tangible criteria include:
- Prior floor-level service experience (especially fine dining)
- Capacity to work within a complex, high-volume preference-ordering hospitality format
- Adaptability to learning multiple bespoke, evening service procedures
