Elementa Support Services is recruiting fluent Welsh-speakers to begin their careers in welcoming Welsh-medium secondary schools across Cardiff & surrounding areas.

About the Role

Main Responsibilities (As an NQT)
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design and teach engaging lessons aligned with the Curriculum for Wales in your specialist subject
- Classroom Culture: Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for pupils
- Assessment & Progress: Monitor and support individual student growth through effective evaluation and feedback
- Behaviour & Safeguarding: Maintain high standards of pupil conduct, wellbeing, and adherence to safeguarding protocols
- Collaboration: Work closely with experienced colleagues, subject leaders, and wider school teams
- Professional Growth: Participate actively in school training, CPD (Continuing Professional Development), and wider professional activities

Requirements
✅ Essential:
- Fluent Welsh speaker (written and spoken)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)—achieved or expected
- EWC (Education Workforce Council) registration (either current or an application in progress)
- Enhanced Disclosure (DBS check) (or commitment to obtain it)
✅ Desired:
- Experience or passion for supporting diverse learners, including those with additional needs
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Firsthand or demonstrated interest in working with secondary-aged pupils
- Willingness to engage in Welsh-medium school culture and practices
Eligibility
❌ This role is not suitable for applicants who:
- Are not fluent in Welsh
- Are not eligible for EWC registration
- Are not in the UK to start immediately
- Require sponsorship for right-to-work requirements
- Would prefer working in a non-Welsh-medium school

Upon Shortlisting, APPLICATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO:
- Successful interview and school referral
- Verification of right to work in the UK
- Checking of Personal Income Tax status (PAYE compliance for salary payments of £110/wk+)
- Clearance of two professional references
- Passing of safeguarding and prevent training modules
- Completion of EWC registration checks
- Enhanced DBS crime disclosure check (£64.20 unless billed through the Update Service)
