Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) – Welsh-Medium (All Subject Specialisms)

About the Role

Elementa Support Services is partnering with welcoming and supportive Welsh-medium secondary schools across Cardiff to recruit enthusiastic, motivated, and fluent Welsh-speaking Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) across all subject specialisms.

Start Date: 01/09/2026 Type: Long-term / Permanent / Supply opportunities available Location: Cardiff and surrounding areas Hours: Full-time (part-time considered) Salary: Paid to scale


Essential Requirements

  • Fluent Welsh speaker
  • DBS & EWC registration (or willing to apply)

Whether you specialise in Maths, English, Science, Humanities, Languages, Creative Arts, Technology, PE, or any other secondary subject, this role offers:

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in your specialist subject in alignment with the Curriculum for Wales
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Assess, monitor, and support pupils’ progress effectively
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding
  • Collaborate with colleagues and wider school staff
  • Participate in professional development and engage in school life

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or soon to be qualified
  • EWC registration (or willingness to apply)
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
  • Enthusiasm for delivering high-quality teaching
  • Resilience and commitment to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
