Location: Thurrock Hospital CDC Centre | Contract: 15 hours per week (average)

** hourly rate:** £12.92 | Annual pro rata salary: £25,272

Overview

We are seeking an FM Assistant (Cleaning) to join our team at Thurrock Hospital CDC Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors across various areas, including toilets, corridors, offices, clinic rooms, store rooms, and more.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in designated schedules, including:
    • Dusting, mopping, and wiping surfaces
    • Disposing of waste and changing bins
    • Other cleaning-specific tasks listed in work schedules

Specific Duties:

  • Contribute to in-house facilities management (FM) services, ensuring that in-patient wards, admin/clinical areas, and retail outlets within Thurrock Hospital remain hygienic.
  • Adhere to National Standards of Cleanliness.
  • Display a flexible, proactive, and customer-focused approach to meet prioritised duties.
  • Work collaboratively within the Facilities Team, utilising initiative to organise tasks efficiently.

Note: Some FM services—such as cleaning, catering, portering, bedmaking, and laundering—are unit-specific. Not all elements of this role will apply equally to all-members of staff.

  • Commitment to upholding stringent cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with other team members.
