ACCOUNTABLE TO: Operations Manager
Location: CPI Books – Croydon Site
This is a full-time 36-hour per week role - Three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates may be required to work outside of these hours, when necessary, especially in busy periods.
About the Role
CPI Group, a pan-European book printer and distributor with 17 manufacturing sites across the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic, seeks an enthusiastic Foil & Emboss Operator to join their dynamic team.
Each year, CPI Group prints millions of paperback and hardback books, covering fiction, educational, and academic publications. As the business grows, they are looking for energetic, creative, and innovative team players.
Role Objectives
The purpose of this role includes:
- To foil, emboss, or deboss book covers or jackets according to customer requirements and quality standards in a timely manner.
- To meet set targets and benchmarks as per Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- To carry out all operator machine maintenance schedules as per manuals or company guidelines.
- To follow both written and verbal instructions consistently.
- To maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Responsibilities
This position demands extremely good attention to detail, with regular feedback to team leaders to foster improvements.
- Set up machines according to required production standards.
- Operate equipment at optimum speed while ensuring consistent high-quality production.
- Regularly check work to guarantee practical results.
- Follow procedures and guidelines to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Cover other duties or requests as directed by team leaders or managers.
