Food and Beverage Manager – Hull Marina

About the Role
Are you a strong leader with interpersonal and training skills? A good communicator who thrives in customer service with an eye for detail? A team player and motivator who enjoys experiential supervision?
At Holiday Inn Hull Marina, you’ll be responsible for daily management of all Food and Beverage (F&B) operations, ensuring exceptional guest service while driving profitability. This role focuses on budgeting, cost control, team performance, and market strategy to align with business goals.
You’ll:
- Implement and maintain cost controls for food, labour, productivity, and supply expenses to stay on budget.
- Plan and review monthly financial forecasts, submit month-end reports, and highlight deviations from business targets.
- Lead Duty Management shifts as required to meet operational needs.
- Participate in management meetings to monitor and develop the annual business plan for the outlet.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and sales teams to devise and measure profit-enhancement programs.
- Compile post-event promotion reports for the General Manager after key promotions.
- Ensure food hygiene and compliance with Health and Safety regulations are consistently upheld.
- Prepare weekly and monthly forecasts for restaurant, bar, and room services.
- Maintain close collaboration with the Head Chef, Conference and Events Manager, and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee all F&B operations, ensuring high standards of service.
- Direct the administration, marketing, and promotions team.
- Hold primary accountability for profitability and revenue generation at the outlet.
Financial and Strategic Management
- Monitor and adjust budgets, costs, and sales performance.
- Analyse business plans and existing goals to align future strategies.
- Formulate profitability strategies by engaging with other departments.
- Conduct post-promotion reviews with the General Manager.
Team and Service Excellence
- Lead as a team motivator and drive service culture.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and Health and Safety compliance.
- Prepare detailed financial and performance forecasts (weekly/monthly).
Meeting and Reporting
- Attend management meetings to propose actions and solutions.
- Report progress to ensure annual targets are met or exceeded.
Requirements
- Ample experience in managerial leadership, preferably in hospitality/retail operations.
- Proven ability in budget management, with strong numerical and forecasting skills.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to engage with teams, staff, and management.
- Service-oriented mindset: skilled in resolving guest issues, maintaining service standards, and building customer loyalty.
- Practical familiarity with food hygiene certifications and awareness of Health and Safety principles.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, aligned with hotel demands.
