Food & Beverage Assistant

Location: Seaham Hall, County Durham

Salary: Up to £12.71 per hour (to be discussed at interview) + share of service charge (approx. £2,000 per year for full-time team members)

Hours: Approximately 30–40 hours per week, including weekends and bank holidays

Reporting to: Restaurant Manager, General Manager

Working with: Kitchen & Food and Beverage teams

As one of the North East’s prestigious 5-Red-Star hotels, Seaham Hall is seeking friendly, reliable and motivated Food & Beverage Assistants to join our team in The Dining Room. We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available.

If you are passionate about hospitality, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service with a warm and professional approach, we would love to hear from you.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, although full training will be provided
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to consistently delivering 5-star service
  • Knowledge of Simphony/Oracle systems is an advantage
  • Ability to interact confidently and professionally with guests, colleagues and management
  • A team player who can also work independently
  • Due to location and shift patterns, own transport is essential

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver attentive, friendly service throughout the guest dining experience, responding to special requests
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas
  • Confidently upsell menu items including starters, desserts and beverages
  • Present yourself professionally at all times, well-groomed and in full uniform
  • Attend training sessions and develop strong menu knowledge to offer informed recommendations
