Food & Beverage Assistant

Required for our luxury care home – Selwood House Charlton Down, Dorchester, Dorset | Part of the Country Court Family

Hours: 30 hours per week (worked as per rota during weekends) Shift times: 08:00 – 18:30


SELWOOD HOUSE CARE HOME Selwood House is a spacious care home in Charlton Down, near Dorchester, with up to 84 residents. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the home specialises in:

  • Residential care
  • Dementia care
  • Short-term respite care

  • Serving residents meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Replenishing all snack stations
  • Cleaning up after meals
  • Re-laying tables, plates, and cloths
  • Maintaining cleanliness in dining areas and kitchens

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES

We’re looking for proactive, dedicated, and caring individuals who thrive in a team environment. This role requires: ✅ Exceptional customer service skills ✅ Experience as a Food & Beverage Assistant or similar (e.g. waiter, catering assistant, barista, host) ✅ Strong knowledge of food/hospitality operations ✅ Compliance understanding of COSHH and health & safety standards ✅ Friendly, empathetic, and personable attitude ✅ Ability to engage with residents and families ✅ Experience working with people living with dementia (advantageous) ✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
