Food & Beverage Assistant
You will receive training through our Dalata Academy to help you learn important skills. You will also meet experienced team members who can help you grow.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager and the Operations Manager, the Food and Beverage Assistant will provide friendly and efficient service to the hotel guests.

Your Job
- Regular guests are known and greeted accordingly, using their names.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beers, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks to a high standard.
- Confidently recommend drinks and menu items, making suggestions that enhance the overall dining experience.
- Support restaurant service by taking orders, running food, and ensuring guests are well looked after throughout their visit.
- Upsell effectively across both food and beverage, promoting specials, cocktails, and upgrades to maximise revenue.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the food menu as well as drinks, including allergens and pairings.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol at all times.
- Work closely with the wider team to deliver smooth, efficient service during busy periods.
- Take ownership of your section, ensuring the bar and service areas are clean, organised, and fully stocked.
- Handle payments accurately using the till system, ensuring all orders are processed correctly.
- Support with opening and closing duties, including set-up, cleaning, and stock control.
- Contribute to a positive team culture, bringing energy, teamwork, and a can-do attitude every shift.
What You’ll Need
- Previous bar, hospitality or customer-service experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- A friendly, welcoming and guest-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
- Confidence working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks would be advantageous.
- Experience using Micros or a similar point-of-sale system would be preferable but is not essential.
- An understanding of responsible alcohol service and licensing requirements, or a willingness to complete the relevant training.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- A hardworking, reliable and punctual approach.
