Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. Recently restored following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, this 15-acre property—located just 20 minutes from Bristol—now features:
- 26 rooms & suites
- An award-winning restaurant, bar, and conference spaces
- Modern British cuisine, sourced locally, including produce from their hotel garden
- 7-day dining, with services including breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, Sunday lunch, weddings, and functions.
They aim to deliver "refined and personalised hospitality"—andsupport guests in feeling pampered, like royalty. Their vision? A place where everyone can disconnect, indulge, and enjoy.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Greet & serve guests: Provide exceptional hospitality in their restored 5-star dining experience, taking orders, and serving food & drinks.
- Personalised service: Answer menu questions, suggest pairings, and accommodate dietary restrictions or food allergies.
- Front-of-house operations: Set up dining spaces, process payments, and maintain food safety & Health & Safety standards.
- Communication & conflict resolution: Handle guest queries and complaints with professionalism and ambassadorship.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues and managers to ensure seamless operation.

Core Requirements
- Full UK work eligibility (no visa sponsorship available).
- Demonstrable passion for hospitality & food with a flair for customer service.
- Independence—can work unsupervised and take initiative when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with the team.
- Willingness to learn with ambition to excel and grow professionally.
Compensation & Benefits
- Wage: £12.71/hour (flexible scale dependent on experience).
- Hours: 40 hrs/week, with evening/weekend shifts. Summer gig or temporary role options available.
- Shifts Available: Evening and weekend coverage (7am–11pm).
- Extra Earnings: Tips (monetary service charge distribution of £2,000–£3,500+/year).
- Holiday: 28 days, (including bank holidays).

Job Requirements Summary
Department: Food & Beverages Employment Type: Full-time, permanent (40 hrs/week). Monthly Salary Range: Up to £26,436 per year (including supplementary tips).
