Food & Beverage Associate – Delta Hotels by Marriott Waltham Abbey

About the Role

As a Food & Beverage Associate, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that every guest leaving our establishment does so feeling well-fed, happy, and eager to return. You’ll:

  • Master our full menu, enabling you to offer tailored menu recommendations and enhance the guest experience.
  • Provide quick, efficient, and smiling service for all aspects of food and drink orders.
  • Resolve issues promptly and professionally to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Contribute to a welcoming environment where guests feel valued and taken care of.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

  • Take food and beverage orders while making knowledgeable recommendations and strategically upselling complementary menu items.
  • Ensure exceptional service is delivered—food and drinks are served efficiently and promptly.
  • Promptly check with guests to confirm meals and drinks meet their expectations.
  • Address any concerns immediately to deliver resolution and maintain satisfaction.

Operations & Maintenance

  • Prepare and set up the restaurant, buffet, kitchen, and bar for each service period, ensuring everything is ready for guests.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the restaurant, buffet areas, kitchen, and bar to create a pleasant environment.
  • Follow accounting and payment procedures correctly for all transactions.

Flexibility & Versatility

  • Be versatile in all food and beverage outlets within the hotel, including:
    • Restaurant service
    • Bar operations
    • Room service
    • Event operations

Safety, Policies & Teamwork

  • Follow all company policies, including safety, security, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Attend and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance, adhering to uniform policies.
  • Treat proprietary information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Engage with clear, professional communication in every interaction.
  • Build and sustain positive working relationships to foster team goals.
  • Actively listen and respond to the concerns of coworkers to create an open and supportive environment.
  • Adhere to quality standards consistently, every step of the way.
