• Job Title: Server / Team Leader (Entry-Level) • Department: Food & Beverage (F&B) • Company: Mercure Hawkwell House

About the Role

This role fosters exceptional guest service while supporting team dynamics and operational excellence in Accor’s fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Service Excellence

    • Delivery consistent, warm, and memorable service to every guest.
    • Maintain rapport quickly in a fast-moving setting (dining room, rooms, bars, meeting spaces).
    • Uphold suggestive sales techniques to enhance guest experience while meeting the F&B concept.
  • F&B Operations

    • Set-up, coordinate, and manage service areas (tables, stations, room service trays) tidily.
    • Take orders via POS systems and ensure accuracy before handing off to kitchen staff.
    • Deliver prompt kitchen-to-guest service, adhering to quality, temperature, and appearance standards.

  • Strategic Sales Execution

    • Apply product knowledge to maximise sales opportunities across dining/takeaway/takeaway and rooms.
    • Offer personalised recommendations through friendly dialogue.
  • Wellbeing & Team Development

    • Cultivate a supportive, energetic, and collaborative team culture.
    • Mentor new hires, facilitate training, and encourage upskilling.
    • Lead by example on presentation (uniform/hygiene) standards aligning with hotel expectations.
  • Technical & Administrative Support

    • Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment.
    • Minimise losses/breakages and swiftly report issues to supervisory staff.
    • Complete mandatory training tied to hospitality requirements.

Processes & Procedural Compliance

  • Hygeinic Food Service
    • Follow food safety protocols at all times.
  • Sales Management
    • Push deposit/follow-up tasks when selling premium products (e.g., minibar, in-room cocktail services).
  • End-of-Shift Procedures
    • Clean dining/serving areas thoroughly using restaurant manual guidelines.
    • Return equipment/utensils to designated storage.

Qualifications & Requirements

✔ Practical experience preferred but not optional—prior guest-facing or food service experience is an asset. ✔ Ability to .repeat orders back to guests for confirmation. ✔ Tutored focus on time management for complex orders (e.g., room service). ✔ Punctuality and commitment to consistent service standards in high-energy environments.
