Food & Drink Operative Apprentice
Location: Leeming Bar, Northallerton, North Yorkshire Shift Patterns: 06:00 - 15:00 or 15:00 - 00:00 Hours of Work: 45 hours per week Reports to: Production Manager
Role Definition
As a Food & Drink Operative Apprentice, you’ll be part of a fast-paced, innovative, and technically advanced environment, supporting our high-performing manufacturing operations. This Level 2 Food & Drink Operative apprenticeship offers a hands-on learning experience as well as the opportunity to earn while you learn.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to efficient, high-quality production processes by working to customer specifications.
- Gain practical experience across a variety of products and machinery in a chilled manufacturing environment.
- Learn about product labelling, weight checks, and quality assurance documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Report defects or issues while receiving full on-the-job training.
- Develop practical manufacturing skills to support ongoing operational improvement initiatives.
- Successfully complete mandatory Food Hygiene & Food Safety courses during your apprenticeship.
- Work towards achieving a Level 2 Food & Drink Apprenticeship, and potentially progress to Functional Skills in Maths and English if required.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
While there are no formal academic requirements, applicants will ideally:
- Hold GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 3/D or above), or be committed to working towards Level 1 Functional Skills.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in learning and completing an apprenticeship.
