What You’ll Be Doing

We are currently recruiting Food Handlers to support a range of food preparation and service operations across Derby. This is a flexible role offering a variety of shift patterns, with opportunities for overtime and long-term progression.

As a Food Handler, you will play a key role in the preparation and handling of food, ensuring everything is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Preparing food items in line with recipes, guidelines, and service requirements
  • Supporting general food preparation and handling tasks
  • Assisting with set-up and organisation of work areas
  • Carrying out basic checks to ensure food quality and presentation standards are met
  • Packing, storing, and handling food items safely
  • Labelling products where required, following simple guidelines
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times
  • Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Replenishing stock and assisting with deliveries as needed
  • Working to daily schedules and supporting team targets
  • Supporting the wider team with additional duties as required

Our Ideal Food Handler Will

  • Be reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
  • Be comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Have good attention to detail and take pride in their work
  • Be able to follow instructions and work safely at all times
  • Show flexibility with shifts, including weekends where required
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in food preparation, catering, or hospitality is beneficial but not essential
