Food Manager
Food Hall Manager
Responsibilities
- Role modelling and coaching for high standards and efficiency across the whole food hall.
- Managing compliance to processes while bringing the passion and flare for great shopkeeping and customer service.
- Ensuring every customer gets the food they want when they shop with us to drive our first-choice standing for food.
- People management responsibilities, including:
- Managing performance and capability
- Conducting disciplinaries
- Ensuring scheduling and pay accuracy
- Assuming overall store responsibility when required, directing and supporting colleagues to deliver exceptional customer service.

- Have previous line management experience in a fast-paced, operational setting.
- Provide brilliant customer service and coach a team to maintain high standards.
- Drive performance against KPIs and other performance indicators.
- Confidently handle disciplinaries, performance issues, or other employee relations matters.
- Take operational leadership, including acting independently when no senior management is available.

Essential Criteria
- Exceptional customer experience delivery with evidence of coaching others to continuously improve.
- Experience leading teams in a dynamic, customer-facing environment, with a track record of:
- Inspiring and motivating others
- Driving high performance
- Fostering colleague well-being and engagement
- Leadership experience in a high-volume, fast-paced operational setting (e.g., retail, food service, or hospitality), with oversight of:
- Daily operations
- Problem-solving and business resilience
- Keeping teams focused on customer outcomes
- Proven ability to deliver across a broad range of KPIs, including:
- Sales growth
- Stock availability and retail readiness
- Customer satisfaction
- Colleague engagement and morale
- Experience managing complex people matters, including:
- Performance issues
- Absence management
- Formal employee relations cases
- Done with confidence, fairness, and resolution-focused approaches.
