Job Introduction

This isn’t a traditional chef role.

As a Cooking Team Member at Bigham’s, you’ll work in a modern kitchen environment using specialist equipment that guides you step-by-step through each recipe.

No previous cooking experience is required - we’ll train you.

If you’re hands-on, reliable and enjoy working as part of a team in a busy environment, this could be a great fit.

Our Cooking Teams play a vital role in producing the high-quality meals Bigham’s is known for, preparing ingredients and cooking them to the right standard ready for our Assembly Teams.

Working Hours

  • 4 days on / 4 days off
  • 6am – 6pm

No late nights or split shifts — just a consistent rota.

Role Responsibility

As a Cooking Team Member, You Will Be

  • Following clear, step-by-step instructions using cooking equipment
  • Operating machinery to cook ingredients at scale
  • Preparing and handling fresh ingredients
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure our standards are met
  • Maintaining high hygiene standards and a clean workspace
  • Completing simple production records and logs
  • Supporting effective shift handovers
  • Reporting any equipment issues within your area

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
