Food Production Operatives Day Shift

Salary: £25,862.20 Shifts: Monday–Friday, rotating early (6:00–14:00) and late (14:00–22:00)

Join us as a Food Production Operative at our Valeo Foods York site — home of Poppets and XXX Mints — where we produce some of the UK’s most loved confectionery. Every role here plays a vital part in keeping our products moving from factory to fans.

About the role

As a Food Production Operative, you’ll work hands-on with our machinery and production lines. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and operating equipment
  • Monitoring performance and quality
  • Completing routine checks
  • Troubleshooting and adjusting machinery to keep production running smoothly

It’s a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential, and your contribution will directly help deliver treats enjoyed across the country.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for in our Food Production Operatives:

  • You don’t need previous experience — just a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
  • If you enjoy practical work, solving problems, and being part of a supportive team, you’ll fit right in.
  • We’re looking for reliable people who work well in a team and feel comfortable in a busy factory environment.
  • Because the shifts rotate, living locally or having your own transport is a real advantage.
  • Previous factory experience is useful but not essential — we hire for potential and will provide all the training you need.
