Food Quality Technologist (Operational)

The role: The food quality technologist (Operational) will be responsible for leading the investigations into non-conformances (internal, supplier and customer) and following up with relevant reports. As food quality technologist (Operational) you will conduct root cause analysis, for example FMEA, 5whys and fishbone diagrams to determine potential impact and develop corrective or preventative steps to prevent recurrence. The food quality technologist (Operational) will be responsible for handling customer complaints in a timely manner. The food quality technologist (Operational) will support the site preparation for internal, customer and 3rd party audits (eg BRC, customer audits). Ensuring that all documentation are maintained and available. As part of the wider quality team, the food quality technologist (Operational) will identify areas of improvement to current quality processes in the business. As food quality technologist (Operational) you will enhance product quality by supporting initiatives that improve process. You will also support the approval of supplier services (warehouses, processors and contract manufacturers/packagers)

Ideal candidate: You will have a strong understanding of operational process, food safety and industry best practice. Able to conduct root causes analysis and manage CAPAs Experience managing investigations and non-conformances Experience in a supplier quality, quality assurance within a food/ingredients manufacturing setting. Knowledge of industry standards and BRC audits, HACCP and GMP. Experience conducting supplier audits.
