Food Service Assistant

Catering Assistant

The post holder will work as part of the Catering Team, who collaborate to provide food for our patients, staff, and visitors. The role involves carrying out general cleaning duties, ensuring standards required by the Trust are met.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe provision of high-quality meals as part of the trust’s in-house catering service.
  • Operate across all areas of the kitchen, undertaking a variety of shifts to support workload demands.
  • Clean and prepare the Finessa meal system, along with associated areas, in anticipation of meal service preparation.
  • Perform basic food preparation, including packing, labelling, and chilling items following set recipes and procedures.
  • Ensure food production equipment is cleaned thoroughly and promptly, ensuring ready for re-use and operating pot washing equipment.
  • Clean designated Catering Department areas per the Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (Food Service Policy). This includes conducting deep cleaning of specific items or areas as directed by the Team Leader.
