Food Service Development Manager – Wild Bean Café (BP)
About the Role
Growing the good credentials and culture within BP—as a true foodie with a passion to deliver quality and freshness through market-leading innovation in food and coffee.
You’ll develop food and coffee products for Wild Bean Café UK, requiring:
- Strong expertise in coffee and iced drink innovation
- Deep understanding of café/hospitality food development
Key Responsibilities
Product & Innovation
- Apply Agile core practices to develop, implement, and refine new food and coffee service offerings
- Collaborate with category, technical, and operations teams for cross-functional alignment
- Use analytical thinking and customer data to:
- Identify market trends and performance gaps
- Assess competitor offerings
- Optimise product assortments
Strategy & Growth
- Develop data-driven, commercially sound strategies to:
- Drive profitability and ROI through quality AND cost efficiency (labour, consumables)
- Align with category objectives
- Ensure all food service developments enhance the customer experience

Operational Execution
- Streamline development processes through:
- Digital collaboration within cross-functional teams
- Knowledge sharing of innovations, successes, and lessons learned
- Lead category management to curb compelling and profitable foodservice solutions
- Develop training programs to ensure consistent food service standards across BP sites
- Optimise retail territory development to grow formats and expand offerings
External Relationships
- Negotiate supplier contracts and partner agreements in food service
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key food service suppliers
- Advocate for industry best practices and share insights across the organisation
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Proven food service development experience in:
- Retail, café, or hospitality environments
- Proficiency in Agile core practices for product development & project management
- Strong analytical skills, including:
- Data interpretation & visualisation
- Trend forecasting in food service
- Commercial acumen with a track record of profitable growth through quality food innovation
- Exceptional communication to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of customer needs & preferences
- Familiarity with digital collaboration tools (e.g., project management software)

- Negotiation, partner relationship management, and contract planning experience
- Retail category management experience
- Retail territory development & training program implementation experience
- Background in drinks innovation (coffee/iced beverages)
